Nominations for the 2026 Presidential Societal Impact Scholar Award will remain open through Dec. 31, 2025. Deans, chairs and faculty are invited to self-nominate or peer-nominate across all colleges and departments across campus.

Presidential Societal Impact Scholars are career- or tenure-line faculty who turn ideas, research, creative work and expertise into action by engaging communities beyond campus and helping shape a more informed, engaged and thriving society. Their influence reaches people, organizations and public conversations in meaningful, measurable ways.

Each scholar receives:

• A $10,000 honorarium
• Media training and communications support from University Marketing & Communications, including promotion of their work in local and national outlets
• Opportunities to convene with fellow scholars throughout the year
• Recognition at major university events, including commencement
• Invitations to select presidential events
